This is a tough one. I thought it was well written and well done. It's a story about love and life, regrets and heartache. It leaves you feeling like happy endings are a fairytale and that sadness, disappointment, and shattered dreams are the norm of life. A very moving albeit not uplifting story. And don't bother to try and figure out how things are going to go along the way. You'll get it wrong.
Good read, just not a happy one.

On the Big White Oak edition by Corrine Coleman Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Captivating from beginning to end! I found myself lost in the story and really related to the characters. I've recommended this book to many already!
I felt like I really knew Marian, Delia and Adam and I found myself wondering about them during the day, wanting to get back to my room to read the next chapter. Can't wait for the next novel from this author!
Wonderful, engaging writing style.
I purchased this book based on the 5 star rating, but I just want to warn other readers that it is not that good. It is not the worst book that I have ever read, but I certainly would not recommend it.
Spoilers!
The biggest problem I have is the HUGE hole in the plot created by the fact that Marian and Adam were best friends their whole lives, and Marian and Delia were best friends their whole lives, and yet Delia and Adam had never met?
Also, if Adam was so protective of Marian, why then, after he kissed her, did he essentially end their friendship? That indicates he really wasn't her friend at all to not have at least told her that he loved her as a friend, not in a romantic way. His treament of Marian after this incident was cruel, but then we are to believe at the end of the story that he has the revelation that she was his soulmate all along? I don't think so. Does your soulmate want you to abort his child so it won't interfere with his marriage?
The character of Adam was poorly written with him making a huge about-face in his feelings not only for Marian, but also with his feelings for his wife AND his child. He gave me whip lash and by the end of the story, I was sick of this guy.
On the Big White Oak is a poignant work that sucks the reader into the inner lives of flesh and blood characters that you almost feel breathe beside you. They will haunt you long afterward, almost like intimate friends that passed through a meaningful passage of your life, but moved on leaving you both somehow enriched and gutted.
The story is enhanced with prose that amplifies the unrest and flows effortlessly winding the reader down it's river of love, deceit, sorrow, and new hope. Fresh with surprise and intrigue, it is a book you will pick up like the phone waiting to reconnect with those you care about.
This was the most emotionally powerful book I have read since, a Thousand Splendid Suns.
This is such a great story. It's easy to attach to the people involved and wish there was a sequel because I didn't want it to end. I was totally surprised with the ending.
An intriguing story, I felt it dragged a bit at times, too much detail. But the fascination to find out who the elderly lady and her therapist were kept me reading. I liked the sensible ending, it was not the 'too pat happy ending' that usually comes with a family/love story such as this.
